Barcelona, Chelsea end in goalless draw

Barcelona and Chelsea have played a goalless draw in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal at the Nou Camp. The Spanish club enjoyed the vast majority of the possession but it was unable to find a way through to goal. Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola noted that Chelsea had played very cautiously with effectively six defenders. "It's never easy to play well when the opposition is not playing football," he said. "I am proud of my players," he added. "You can be sure we will go to London with the same attacking spirit." However, Chelsea head coach Guus Hiddink defended his team for preventing Barca's forward line from scoring. "It was not an easy match to play and we will have to improve in some areas for the next game, but overall I am happy as we defended very well," said Hiddink. The English side will host Barcelona at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday. Two other English teams, Manchester United and Arsenal will play the other semifinal match later today.
