Italian Macheda bags, Man. United wins

Italian striker Federico Macheda's goal has secured a decisive 2-1 victory for Manchester United against Sunderland in the Premier League. Coming off the bench in the second half, the 17-year-old's first touch for United produced the desired result when he deflected Michael Carrick's low shot to break a draw and win the match. Last week, the Italian scored a sensational injury time winner in similar fashion in a 3-2 victory against Aston Villa. He continues to play a great role in United's title race. Earlier in the first half of the match, Sunderland's Kenwyne Jones scored beautifully to cancel out Paul Scholes's header, which had scored the opening goal. In another match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea kept its own title hopes alive with a 4-3 win over Bolton Wanderers. The current wrap up shows Manchester United, having one game in hand, remaining on top with 71 points; Liverpool is in second place with 70; Chelsea is third with 67.
