Iran ties Brazil 2-2 in futsal friendly


World Cup futsal champion Brazil has been held to a 2-2 draw in its second friendly match against the Iranian national futsal team. 

The game was held in Sao Croso, Brazil on Tuesday. 

Majid Tikdarinejad and Mohamad Taheri scored for the Asian futsal champion which lost its first friendly against the host 4-2 on Sunday. 

The Iranian outfit, coached by Hossein Shams, will attend the Grand Prix de Futsal Tournament in Brazil where the top 16 teams of the world will be competing in June 2009. 

Iran reached the 2008 Futsal World Cup quarterfinals last October after displaying a brilliant performance that resulted in Iran being voted as the most impressive team in the tournament. 

Iran's national futsal team has been ranked fourth by FIFA in 2008 -- after Brazil, Spain and Italy.
