Liverpool annihilates Blackburn 4-0

Liverpool has celebrated its twentieth victory in the Premier League against Blackburn after a humiliating defeat at home earlier this week. Two goals by Fernando Torres in the first half secured the three points at Anfield on Saturday. A fifth-minute volley and a header after 33 minutes by the Spanish striker took his goal tally for the season to 14. In the 83rd minute, a long-range strike from Danish player Daniel Agger boosted the score to three. David Ngog's last-minute goal completed the stunning win to calm the midweek defeat in the Champions League. On the Wednesday prior, Liverpool was defeated by Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals at Anfield, effectively hindering the Reds chances for a semifinals berth. Liverpool will next face Chelsea for the return leg on Tuesday, this time at Stamford Bridge. "It's very positive," Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez told Sky Sports after Saturday's match. "We needed to play well and score goals."
